Experiment: How to create a newton disc
Aquest any hem fet uns experiments al laboratori i el
que m´ha agradat més ha sigut el de “How to create a newton disc”.
Have you ever wondered why the rainbow appears when it
has been raining and it´s sunny at the time?
The rainbow is an optical phenomenon that is caused by
both reflection and refraction of light in water drops, resulting in a spectrum
of white appearing in the sky.
White light is dispersed by the water drops into the
seven colors : red, orange,
yellow, green,
blue, indigo
and violet.
Material
Marble
scissors white
cardboard pencil and ruler
Markes protractor CD glue
Hypothesis
If you mix the seven colors the white color will
appear.
Procedure
1.Cut the cardboard into a circular shape using the CD
as a guide.
2. Use a pencil to
divide the paper circle into seven parts, like you can see in the text
picture
3. Color each portion of the paper alternating the
seven colors of the rainbow.
4. Glue the color circle to the CD and place the
marble in the centre of the CD.
5. Paste it to make a spinning top.
6. Spin the CD
with your hands on an horizontal surface and observe what happens.
Results(Conclusion)
